Can you see where this movie is going yet? Thus fueling Perseus with a need for vengeance. – During all this commotion we see Perseus’ family get killed because of Hades punishment of the humans disrespect of Zeus. Conversely, we just as quickly see that Zeus ( Liam Neeson) is not pleased about this and is convinced by the very creepy Hades ( Ralph Fiennes) to strike back by threatening the humans with the Kraken to turn them against each other. – Very quickly after this, and I mean extremely quickly, we see that the humans want to declare war on the Gods for using their prayers to be immortal but not giving anything back to them. So we know from the first couple of scenes who the main character of the story is and who will probably survive. – The movie opens up by quickly catching us all up on the story of Perseus’ ( Sam Worthington) early life, telling us that the character is special in some way. WARNING: If you have not seen the new Clash of the Titans, do NOT read any further. But enough of that though, let’s get to the SPOILER TALK!īelow are some of my spoiler-filled thoughts on the film Make sure to put in your spoilerific thoughts in the comments! If you want to have a 3D film please, I beg of you, film it in 3D. I refuse to support the Hollywood craze to up-convert movies. The only thing that I would like to say is I have not seen the 3D version on principle. It lived up to my hype level and I am so happy for that. That being said i was extremely excited for the new Clash Of The Titans.

The Percy Jackson book series was one of my favorites because of its use of Greek mythology. One of my favorite types of media is mythology-based fantasy. I personally have never seen the original but have heard about how enjoyable it was and will probably be renting it for a watch some time soon.
Well the new Clash Of The Titans looks to capitalize on this trend in movies. This is especially true when it comes to the genre of science fiction and fantasy. Over the past couple years it seems like every month or two we get the pleasure of a new remake. For example, humans making war against the gods (something that is totally unbelievable) the Cracken being Hades pet and Perseus forsaking his divine lineage – but still acting like a badass, macho warrior….Looking for another remake? Well you’ve come to the right place, or better yet time. Unlike the 1981 version, this new version almost completely abandons the original Greek Myth and replaces it with cliché action movie fluff. But at least, Zeus gets to utter the immortal line, “Release the Cracken!”
The Cracken, which originally belonged to Poseidon (god of the Sea) in the myth – now belongs to Hades (god of the Underworld). So Perseus leads his men into battle against everything from giant scorpions, to fallen kings, to Medusa however, as the dangers seem to grow more and more dangerous - this movie just gets sillier and sillier. The hero Perseus (Sam Worthington), the son of Zeus, sides with the mortals and is faced with the challenge of saving the Kingdom of Argos. In this version of Clash of the Titans mortals have declared war on the gods (which seems like a really really stupid idea - how can somebody declare war on the sky or the sea?) But for once Hades (Ralph Fiennes) and Zeus (Liam Neeson) are in agreement, they must put these mortals in their place. Obviously the CGI is much better here than in the original 1981 Clash of the Titans – however, that’s the only thing that is better about this remake (or should I say, reinvention). There are a lot of awesome special effects and huge battle sequences in this new version of Clash of the Titans. It’s the gods verses mortals: Zeus, Hades, Perseus, and Calibus, in Clash of the Titans.
